Little Rock police respond to shooting at Exxon gas station on Markham and Shackleford Road

The Little Rock Police Department responded to a shooting Thursday night at the Exxon gas station on West Markham and Shackleford Road.

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (KTHV) - Officers with the Little Rock Police Department were dispatched to 11301 West Markham Thursday evening in reference to a shooting.

There they found a man inside a vehicle suffering from a gunshot wound. The front driver's side window of the man's car had been busted out.

It was difficult for the man to speak with police, as he had a gunshot wound to the neck. He also had several gunshot wounds to the abdomen. Police immediately began rendering first aid.

The man was not sure who shot him.

There had also been calls of shots fired at 10724 West Markham that were possibly related to this incident. Officers went to that address and found shell casings and a firearm in the Exxon parking lot and determined that's where the shooting occurred.

A bystander told officers she observed a dark-colored bag near the parking lot. Officers located the bag approximately 70 feet west of where the injured man was located. Inside the bag they found a Glock handgun and other evidence.

As of Friday, the victim was still in critical condition.
