Darrius Holmes has been arrested for killing Joshua Backus, 39, on April 5, 2018, at approximately 8:25 p.m.
Once Little Rock police responded to a shooting on Mabelvale Pike, officers found Backus lying in the parking lot. He was unresponsive and suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.
Medical personnel responded and the victim was then transported to a nearby hospital where he later died as a result of his injuries.
According to the LRPD, during the course of the investigation, detectives developed a case against Holmes and he was served with warrants while in jail for capital murder and possession of firearms.
