McDOUGAL, Ark. (AP) - Authorities say one person was killed in a helicopter crash in northeastern Arkansas.
Clay County Sheriff Terry Miller says the pilot of the aircraft died in the Friday afternoon crash near the town of McDougal, near the Arkansas-Missouri state line about 160 miles (258 kilometers) northeast of Little Rock.
The pilot's name has not been released. Miller said the body was sent to the state Crime Laboratory to determine the cause of death and that both the Federal Aviation Administration and the National Transportation Board will investigate the crash.
Entergy Arkansas issued a statement saying the helicopter was flying under a contract with the energy company and expressing "thoughts and prayers" to the family and friends of the pilot.
