CONWAY, Ark. — The Conway Police Department, the Conway Fire Department, and Pafford Medical Services were at the scene of a plane crash that happened on Wednesday afternoon.
According to police reports, they responded to the scene south of the airport shortly after 5:30 p.m. When they arrived, they saw that there was a single-engine aircraft crash.
The two people on board the plane were a 46-year-old male flight instructor from Greenbrier and a 26-year-old man from Searcy.
The pilots stated that mechanical failure caused complications during their flight and they were attempting to land on the roadway but instead landed in a field due to powerlines that were in the way.
Conway police said the Federal Aviation Administration was notified and will conduct an investigation. They said JW and Pat Brown Boulevard, which is in the vicinity of the crash, will be temporarily blocked until their arrival.
