LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (November 6, 2014) - Entergy is announcing construction of a new $23 million Transmission Operations Center, the "nerve center" of its transmission system, in Little Rock that will be one of two twin centers in the corporation's four-state service area.
Prior to this year, Entergy had five TOCs and one System Operating Center in cities throughout its four-state service area. The company is consolidating these operations into two locations to improve operations, enhance storm response and mitigate weather risks. The project, which is about to begin construction, is scheduled to be complete in summer 2016.
The groundbreaking will take place on Monday at 10 a.m. at 13019 Vimy Ridge Road in Little Rock.
