Sketches released of police poser accused of sexually assaulting women

Police are trying to figure out if both acts were committed by the same man.

COBB COUNTY, Ga. — The Cobb County Police Department believe they now have identified the face of a man accused of impersonating a police officer, then sexually assaulting the women he pulled over.

This past weekend, a woman reported being pulled over around 1 a.m. off Nash Road in Atlanta and assaulted by a man she thought was a police officer. Hours later, a very similar incident happened in Cobb County around 4 a.m. off Terrell Mill Road.

In both cases, the victims reported being pulled over by a dark-colored vehicle with a blue light bar on top of the car, similar to ones seen on police vehicles.

Now, police are trying to figure out if both acts were committed by the same man.

On Wednesday, Atlanta Police and Cobb County Police both released sketches of the suspect, as described by the victims.

While there are similarities, Sgt. Wayne Delk with the Cobb County Police Department explained why the man pictured may not look exactly the same.

"There are always going to be something that may or may not come out in that person’s memory," he explained. "One may remember the eyes more vividly. The other may see the mouth more vividly, which is why even though these sketches may not appear to be that closely related, there may be some similarities that we aren’t seeing, but if we actually get a suspect, we can see they may match up with certain similarities in one sketch and other aspects in the other sketch."

If anyone has recognizes the suspect from the sketches, they're asked to contact either the Atlanta Police Department or the Cobb County Police Department with information.
