LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (KTHV) - Thousands will be traveling tomorrow, Nov. 21, as the day before Thanksgiving is considered the country's busiest travel day of the year. This year, Arkansas State Police has a game plan to keep travelers safe and prevent reckless driving on the highways.

According to their Facebook post, Arkansas State Troopers have partnered with several other states, including Tennessee, Oklahoma and Texas to protect drivers along the I-40 corridor. They will have an "intensified enforcement emphasis" along I-40 state-wide during the most heavily travel hours of the holiday. Their post did not specify those times.

Each state plans to assign a trooper every 20 miles of I-40 during those peak hours.

They also asked drivers to be aware and slow down, so that everyone is able to celebrate with their loved ones.
