SAN MARCOS, Texas — A tough offensive day plagued the Trojans as they fell 50-48 to Texas State on Saturday afternoon.

Ronjanae DeGray went 8-16 from the floor and scored 18 points in her effort to lead the Trojans. Tori Lasker made three three-pointers to tally nine points on the day while Terrion Moore and Raeyana DeGray each registered six points.

It was a slow start to the contest as neither team was able to muster a basket for the first four minutes. Kyra Collier finally broke the deadlock with a running jumper in the lane to get things started for the Trojans. When the teams would reach the media timeout, the score was 5-2 in favor of the Bobcats as the teams shot a combined 15 percent from the field. Ro. DeGray scored back-to-back buckets right after the timeout to get the Little Rock offense back on track. The Trojans held a 9-5 lead at the end of the first ten minutes, in what would be their second lowest-scoring quarter of the season. While Little Rock struggled on the offensive end, they managed to hold Texas State to their lowest-scoring quarter of the season as their defense shined.

Ra. DeGray got in on the scoring by completing a three-point play to push their lead to five points. Krystan Vornes followed with a layup to get her name on the scoresheet. Despite a much higher-scoring quarter for the maroon and silver, the Bobcats were able to take a one-point advantage heading into the break after a solid sequence in the final two minutes of the half. Ro. DeGray would pace the scoring for Little Rock with 10 first-half points. The Bobcats lead 25-24 at the end of the first half.

Lasker opened up the second half with her first three of the night to tie the score at 27. However, the Trojans would continue to struggle on the offensive end and the Bobcats took a two-point lead at the four-minute mark in the third quarter. Little Rock went through a nearly three-minute scoring drought in the quarter and Texas State took a six-point lead. The Trojans would trail 38-34 heading into the final ten minutes.

Lasker gave Little Rock the start they needed in the fourth with a three from the corner. Ro. DeGray knocked down a catch-and-shoot jumper from 15 feet and then Moore finished a driving layup in the lane to give the Trojans a one-point lead. Lasker then hit her third three of the night and Ro. DeGray finished off a beautiful pass by Moore to make the score 48-43 at the final media timeout. The Bobcats responded with a 5-0 run to tie the game at 48 with just over two minutes to play. Another basket would push their lead to two points when the Trojans took possession with 24 seconds to play. Lasker's contested jumper fell short at the buzzer on Little Rock's final possession and the Bobcats would walk away with a 50-48 win.

The Trojans will get back to action next Saturday when they travel to Jonesboro, Ark. to take on rival Arkansas State at 12 p.m.
