LITTLE ROCK, Ark. — J.D. Roberts is an Executive Producer and a movie reviewer on 'Getting Reel' at THV11 in Little Rock. His job focuses on the content and shows viewers watch every day.
Born in Ohio, J.D.'s family moved to Arkansas when he was almost three. He grew up in Bryant, but moved to Fort Worth, Texas after 6th grade. After two years, his family moved back to Saline County, where he graduated from Benton High School.
After high school, he attended Henderson University where he graduated in 2014 with a Bachelor of Arts in Mass Media with a focus on Film and Television.
J.D. started at THV11 as an intern in 2014. After a few months, he became a producer on the morning show. He went on to produce for several evening newscasts before returning to the morning show as a Senior Producer, where he helped launch Wake Up Central.
Now, J.D. spends his time leading a team of producers, reporters, editors, and directors as they strive to create newscasts that inform and connect. He's won an regional EMMY for his work, and has been recognized for his innovation.
J.D. married his high school sweetheart, Dawn. They have a daughter and son, who make him a "cool dad."
In his spare time, he loves watching movies and talking about them with whoever will listen. He also enjoys watching awesome T.V. shows, listening to great music, and cheering on the Winnipeg Jets.
