LITTLE ROCK, Ark. — Mackailyn Johnson joined the THV11 team in January 2022 as an anchor and reporter for our morning shows.
She always knew she would end up in a career that told stories because of her love for writing, telling stories and asking (sometimes too many) questions. She can recall back to her younger years when her and her grandmother would wake up early, drink coffee and watch a local news station.
Mackailyn is a native Texan who has lived across the Lone Star state, but she calls The Woodlands, a Houston suburb, home.
Before moving to Little Rock, Mackailyn worked as a reporter and weekend anchor at KSAN in San Angelo, Texas. Her career started at KTEN in Denison, Texas where she covered both northern Texas and southern Oklahoma. Her position led her to tell stories of the Indigenous American tribes in Oklahoma to the devastating Texas storm.
Mackailyn finds joy in having a career that can impact the lives of those around her.
A proud Bearkat, Mackailyn received her bachelor's degree in multi-platform journalism with a minor in Political Science from Sam Houston State University.
Mackailyn enjoys music, good food, shopping and spending time with her loved ones.
