Nick Luttrell is a THV11 Sports Anchor & Reporter. Born and raised in Springdale, Arkansas, Nick comes from a family that prioritized two things above all else: Jesus Christ and the Arkansas Razorbacks... typically in that order. Nick knew pretty early on that sports was his passion. When asked as a kid what his favorite sport was, his answer would change based on whatever season it was. Today, he still answers that question the same.
It wasn't until his freshmen year of high school when Nick discovered his passion of broadcasting. As he went throughout high school he played sports less and began broadcasting them more. Whether that's because he (unofficially) averaged 0.4 points per game on his high school basketball team or not is still to be determined. What was true, though, is his unique passion not just for broadcasting but for cinematography and filmmaking as well. At Har-Ber High School, Nick helped to create "HarBerWCSN" - a social media platform that promoted and covered every sport in his school. Through this, he was also able to promote the video stories, hype videos and pregame shows that he and his classmates produced.
After a unique graduation in May of 2020 during the peak of COVID-19, Nick decided to move 1,200 miles away to attend Syracuse University because of its prestigious sports broadcasting department. At SU, Nick quickly became involved in various media clubs/organizations such as WJPZ, WAER, The Daily Orange and most notably, CitrusTV. The campus tv-station was where Nick grew the most in his skills as a broadcaster. Throughout his four years with CitursTV, Nick was beat reporter for various sports, anchor for various shows, revenue cleared photographer, technical director and the sports director in 2023.
During the summers in college, Nick continued learning and growing in sports broadcasting. In 2022 he interned at KNWA (Pig Trail Nation) in Northwest Arkansas. That summer he also interned at Hogs+, a fairly new multimedia platform that works with Arkansas Razorback athletics to give fans behind the scenes access of coaches, players and teams. The next summer, he was promoted to a summer producer at Hogs+ where he had an improved role working with the staff.
Two months after graduating from Syracuse, Nick landed the job where he's at now as a Sports Anchor/Reporter. Nick works alongside sports director Tyler Cass (who also graduated from Syracuse) to keep viewers informed on what's happening in the sports world around them. While informing the audience is important, one of Nick's favorite parts of his job is getting to tell the stories of Little Rock and beyond.
In his free time, Nick loves playing various sports such as golf and basketball to stay active, as well as hanging out with friends from his church. He is still relatively new to the area, so for any story ideas, restaurants to check out or anything else you can email him at Nluttrell@thv11.com, or message him on X and/or Facebook.
