GREENBRIER, Ark. — An Arkansas disc golf course has been ranked as the sixth best course in the entire world by UDisc, which is an app that helps people find and share the best disc golf courses.
The UDisc team has been unveiling what it deems the best courses across the world this month and on Feb. 15 they revealed that Persimmon Ridge Disc Golf Course in Greenbrier was the ranked sixth for the 2024 list.
The course was opened in 2018 by the Jones family and has been ranked as the best disc golf course in Arkansas since 2020.
"We extend our deepest gratitude to the disc golfers who rated us on UDisc for this esteemed recognition," said Kim Jones. "We're elated and committed to maintaining Persimmon Ridge as a haven you're always excited to return to, regardless of your experience level in disc golf."
Jones said they are eager to welcome both "new and familiar faces" who will come to "experience the magic" of the resort and disc golf course.
Their course was put on the map in 2020 by professional disc golf Luke Humphries and other professionals who visited the location for an event. From there, the course developed its mixture of scenery and create a "destination" type feel. That eventually evolved into creating courses that would appeal to beginners and experts alike.
Persimmon Ridge plans to hold its 6th Annual Persimmon Ridge Retreat, which will be held the weekend before the total solar eclipse that will pass over Arkansas. They will also hold an event on the day of the eclipse to coincide with their Eclipse Disc Golf Fest.
