LITTLE ROCK, Ark. — It takes a patient person to work with children every day.
Not only has Christine Harris raised her own children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, she's also been caring for kids at The Little Rock Athletic Club for nearly four decades.
"I love kids,” Harris said. “There's a lot of kids that I used to keep a long time ago and they're grown and their kids have come back. One guy I used to keep passes by about twice a week. He smiles and waves.”
Harris has worked at LRAC before it was even named that. She started working at "The Westside Tennis Club" in 1980, and she's been working in the daycare ever since.
“She's a sweet person. She has a sweet spirit. I just love Mrs. Christine. She's a lovable person,” Harris’ co-worker, Hattie Moore, said. "I always tell Mrs. Christine she does too much. I say, ‘you're the supervisor. Let me do it. You tell us what to do.’ She'll look at me and smile and say, ‘girl I got it!’”
Harris said she loves having fun with kids, even with the most simple activities. Coloring, dancing and reading stories are part of her daily routine.

"I have six kids, 10 grandkids and 14 great-grandkids. I've just enjoyed them. I love being a mom,” Harris said.
When asked what she thinks about someone calling her Remarkable, Harris had this to say: "I think its fine. I think I am too. Mhmm."
