NORTH LITTLE ROCK, Ark. — When you're in North Little Rock, you're not just north of Little Rock, you're Nawf of the City! This local spot, cleverly named for its location, serves incredible burgers, catfish, and award-winning wings.
Owner Maurice Fields is a North Little Rock native with a passion for bringing the community together with delicious food and good energy.
"We are north of everything, including Little Rock so I thought it was fitting for the location and the culture," Fields explained "What does NAWF stand for? I make up all kinds of stuff. I say nachos, Angus beef, wings, and fries.”
Opening Nawf of the City was much more than starting a business— it was a chance to share it with the ones he loves.
“It’s a family affair, like I mentioned, my brother graduated from North Little Rock, TK the bartender graduated from Ole Main in 1989. My son graduated in 2009, so the community, they know who we are,” he said.
The food is not just good, it's actually award-winning! Nawf of the City was voted best wings at Wing Stock this year.
“First bite it’ll hit you, you’ll ask yourself, what is this combination of flavors? Our goal is to try and raise your eyebrows when you bite into it,” Fields said.
The menu features some traditional favorites besides the wings such as catfish, BBQ, Southwest eggrolls, and burgers.
Nawf of the City is located at 5107 Warden Road in North Little Rock.
