HOT SPRINGS, Ark. — Historic downtown Hot Springs might be best known for its bathhouses, but just across the street is a Spa City staple serving up delicious burgers.
"BubbaLu’s is actually on our 19th year and next October will be the big 20," Owner Ginger Bastin said "We’re kind of the kids' spot, you know it’s an easy place to bring your family with young kids. We’ve got a great kids' menu to choose from. We pride ourselves on keeping our prices down and affordable."
Bastin and her husband purchased the restaurant nearly a decade ago when they "found out the owners were almost 80 and they were going to sell or close the place down, so we were like hey, we’re ready for a new adventure."
Now, she also prides herself on the fresh ingredients at BubbaLu's that keep people coming back for more.
“Our beef comes out of an Angus ranch down in Texas, it’s always 80-20. Never frozen. People always ask, 'What do you season your meat with?' and that’s the thing, we don’t. We let the flattop grill do everything,” Bastin explained. "Our vegetables are fresh and cut every day. The tomatoes and the onions, all that type of stuff. Anytime we can buy local Arkansas grown we do.”
