It's game on at Caverns & Forests Board Game Café

At this one-of-a-kind board game café, visitors can sit and enjoy their favorite games while eating some of the freshest food in North Little Rock.

NORTH LITTLE ROCK, Ark. — North Little Rock's Argenta district has an exciting new addition that brings families and friends together— Caverns & Forests Board Game Café

At this one-of-a-kind board game café, visitors can sit and enjoy their favorite board games while enjoying some of the freshest food in North Little Rock.

Owners Matthew Quin and Radiance Beltz said they've always dreamed of opening a board game café, and are proud to operate the only board game café in the Natural State.

"Someone was going to do it. Might as well be us," Beltz said.

Quin added that it was a lengthy process to open Caverns & Forests.

"We did a bunch of pop-ups for about a year in Central Arkansas, just to test the waters and see if this was a viable thing. They want to hang out, play party games, and have a special night," he explained.

The café offers classic games such as Monopoly or Battleship, however, patrons can also test their skills at advanced board games or try something new if they choose to.

Worried you might need help picking up the rules? No problem! The staff at Caverns & Forests is prepped on their board game knowledge and ready to step in to help.

No matter if you enjoy board games or not, the menu is something everyone can enjoy.

"Everything is carefully selected because we don’t have a ton of space. So we wanted to maximize our food menu," Beltz said.

Some of the customer favorites are grilled paninis, salads, and appetizers.

"We just introduced a new turkey salad. A lot of people are fans of the Parma. We wanted this to be as traditional to if you were in Italy as possible," Quin added.

Maybe the most popular items are the desserts. Visitors can try Bread pudding and chocolate pudding.

"I really like desserts. I like coconut bananas. We do a butter pecan bread pudding with vanilla butter cream sauce," Beltz said.

There is a $5 cover charge for anyone over the age of 8 when you visit, however, you can stay and play as many games as you want until close.

Caverns & Forests is closed on Monday, and open Tuesday through Thursday from 5 p.m. to 11 p.m., Friday & Saturday from 5 p.m. to midnight, and Sunday from 1 p.m. to 8 p.m.
