Grateful Head Pizza | This Hot Springs restaurant has some of the best local pizza & beer

Based right in Hot Springs is Grateful Head Pizza Oven and Beer Garden — a beloved local restaurant inspired by a legendary rock band!

HOT SPRINGS, Ark. — Based right in Hot Springs is Grateful Head Pizza Oven and Beer Garden — a beloved local restaurant named after a very familiar band!

The owners of Grateful Head Pizza, William and Kevin Carper, are self-described "deadheads," which means that they're massive fans of the band Grateful Dead. That fandom was shown as the two followed the band on their last tour, collecting several memorabilia items that are now displayed in the restaurant.

Grateful Head Pizza has turned into a household name as the pair coupled a few of their favorite things. General Manager C.J. Himpson said that William and Kevin "just love pizza, beer, and good music."

Additionally, they're invested in the history of the century-old building that Grateful Head Pizza has called home.

"You can feel it from the tile work to the original brickwork, and they did a really good job when they put this place together of keeping the original feel to it," Himpson said. "This place radiates the history of Hot Springs."

Grateful Head Pizza offers up some of the best local beer in Hot Springs partnering with Bubba Brew's to keep several beers on draft. As for the pizza, Himpson said that "the supreme is [the] most popular seller right now.

"It's the Psychedelic Supremo as we call it," Himpson said.

Taking a quick look at the menu, it's easy to see several Grateful Dead themes.

It's not just pizza and beer either — the menu also features cheese sticks, salads, and bone-in wings. Himpson said it's all about "simplicity and quality."
