LITTLE ROCK, Ark. — This week the Eat it Up crew stayed in the heart of downtown Little Rock at EJ's Eats and Drinks on Center Street.
For nearly two decades EJ's has remained one of the most popular lunch spots in the capital city, and now they've got new ownership with additional events for everyone!
Owner Andre Lewis took over EJ's earlier this year. He is active duty military and has been stationed in Arkansas twice.
"When I came back here from Japan I saw the opportunity to make something of my own," he explained.
EJ's still features those favorite classics they've been serving for years.
"Our response time for pushing the food out has been improved, I think the quality is better, and I think we have a pretty diverse menu and we have a lot more vegetarian options," Lewis added.
The big hitter for EJ's this year has been the weekend. Lewis says the "brunch menu has been huge.
"The chicken and waffles is a big favorite and we also have a blackberry biscuit that is really popular. Regardless of what day of the week it is, I'm a big jalapeno burger guy," he said.
Since taking over, Lewis wanted to make sure EJ's was a place for everyone to feel welcome.
"I want this to be an inclusive place regardless of what you're into and for you to feel comfortable and that's why we've started to offer more events recently. We want this to be a focal spot for the community of Little Rock," he added.
