LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (KTHV) - If you're into creating your own private fireworks show, there is no shortage of pop-up fireworks stands all around central Arkansas.
But the laws and rules vary from city to city. If you haven't stocked up on fireworks yet, now's the time to do so.
Surprisingly, several people still stopped by A-1 Fireworks in Alexander to make purchases despite pop up showers.
“We're just shopping to get some fireworks, this is the best place to get it. And it’s cheap! That's what I like about it,” said Alex Blake. He lives in Alexander where fireworks are pretty much allowed.
The North Little Rock Fire Marshal issued a new reminder this year, no fireworks are allowed there. Same policy goes for Little Rock.
But with so many different rules, this stand in Saline County is still pretty busy. Business has been strong for about two weeks.
“We're giving them information about burn bans and city ordinances if we know them. We're right here in Alexander, at the edge of Little Rock and Bryant, so we're just trying to keep up with all the safety issues also,” Chad Morgan, with A-1 Fireworks, added.
It can be hard to resist the temptation of stopping at a firework stand due to their heavy presence this time of year.
It’s important to know the where you stand so that your family can avoid any fines or penalties, and enjoy everything about the holiday.
“A couple of our customers have come in and said that they knew veterans lived in their neighborhood. So they gave them money for the family to go out to eat so they can enjoy the fireworks while they're away,” said Brandy Morgan.
A-1 Fireworks will continue to serve the Saline County area until July 5th.
The fine or penalty for violating rules in North Little Rock could cost you $25.00 to $500.00 dollars. Your fireworks will also be confiscated.
