MIAMI (CBSMiami) — There will be a new gift card on store shelves this holiday season.
Uber says it will start selling gift cards as a way to pay for its service.
They’ll range from $15 to $500.
They’ll be available on Uber’s website and in about 35,000 stores including Walmart, Target, and CVS. The gift cards can also be redeemed in the Uber mobile app.
To redeem a gift card, recipients will need to enter the code on the card into the Uber app before requesting a ride. They will be valid in any U.S. city where Uber is available. The company says the cards will never expire.
Lyft also debuted a physical gift card program earlier this year, selling $20 value cards exclusively at some U.S. Starbucks locations.
