NORTH LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (KTHV) - Governor Asa Hutchinson joined officials with the Caterpillar Construction company to discuss the future of their North Little Rock plant.
The business announces it will add new products to the local production schedule. To support those new products, Caterpillar is investing more than 40 million dollars into its North Little Rock facility, while also creating more than 250 new jobs.
Operations Manager, Paul Rivera, said the announcement made in Central Arkansas is one that will impact people across the world.
"Caterpillar's purpose statement says 'Our solutions help our customers build a better world,'” said Rivera, “and the equipment we're producing today helps us accomplish that task."
To help fill the new jobs, Caterpillar is set to host a job fair at its facility on July 21 from 8 a.m. to noon.
The North Little Rock facility is expected to start production on its new products beginning next year.
