Northwest Arkansas favorite Black Apple Cider now on tap in Little Rock

Springdale's Black Apple was the first official cider production facility in Arkansas, and until recently, you had to travel north to get a taste.

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. — There's something new on tap here in central Arkansas.

Springdale's Black Apple was the first official cider production facility in Arkansas, and until recently, you had to travel north to get a taste. But as of this week, you can finally get its products in Little Rock.

The business hosted several launch parties, including one Friday night at Flying Saucer in downtown Little Rock.

“When we first opened the cidery, we were the only one in a 350 mile radius,” said Black Apple’s Bryce Martin. “So it’s a new thing, especially for the south. Without northwest Arkansas really embracing us the way that they have, there's no way we could’ve come down here and sell cider in central Arkansas."

Flying Saucer now features four Black Apple ciders: Grapefruit, Semisweet, Hibiscus, and Pineapple. It's just one of 30 restaurants now serving the cider, including Lost 40, Vinos, Bark Bar, and Dickey Stephen’s Park.
