A new bike law also goes into effect Monday that says cyclists will be able to treat stop signs as yields and red lights as stop signs.
Cyclists say they're pleased because the new law will make their commutes faster.
Bruce Thalheimer, Principal of a local bike shop Chainwheel said he thinks the new law will help with the flow of traffic.
"It'll keep the cyclists from grouping up and blocking an intersection," said Thalheimer.
Lawmakers believe the new rules will help keep cyclists safe, while also making sure traffic keeps moving.
