CASSVILLE, Mo. (AP) - An Arkansas man who was convicted of killing his estranged girlfriend and her grandfather has been sentenced to two consecutive life terms.
Missouri Attorney General Josh Hawley announced that 40-year-old Christopher Paschall, of Springdale, Arkansas, was sentenced Thursday for two counts of first-degree murder. He was sentenced to an additional 177 years in prison for parental kidnapping and three counts of armed criminal action. The sentences will run consecutively.
Prosecutors say Paschall shot 29-year-old Casey Brace and her 76-year-old grandfather, Herbert Townsend in January 2015 at a home in Barry County, Missouri. Townsend was able to tell officers who shot him before he died from several gunshot wounds.
Paschall took his 2-year-old daughter to Springdale, Arkansas, where authorities surrounded the house and arrested him. The child was unharmed.
