ASP arrest man wanted out of Massachusetts for rape, assault of child

According to Arkansas authorities, the 36-year-old man was wanted on a nationwide warrant for two counts of rape of a child under 16 by force.

NORTH LITTLE ROCK, Ark. — Arkansas State Police (ASP) announced on Thursday that they have arrested a man wanted out of Lynn, Massachusetts on two counts of rape of a child. 

According to ASP, 36-year-old Elmer Alvarado-Lopez was arrested during a traffic stop in North Little Rock on Tuesday, July 23 around 10:08 a.m.

Authorities said that Alvarado-Lopez was driving a red Dodge Charger and that the initial traffic stop on I-40 in North Little Rock was due to a traffic violation. 

From there, that's when ASP arrested Alvarado-Lopez, who was the driver of the vehicle. 

Authorities said that Alvarado-Lopez was wanted for two counts of rape of a child under 16 by force. Additionally, he was wanted for two counts of indecent assault and battery upon a child under 14. 

Authorities sent him to the Pulaski County Detention Center, where he is currently being held for the Lynn Police Department on a nationwide warrant.
