MAUMELLE, Ark. — An Arkansas man has now been arrested after he was involved in a road rage incident while driving along Interstate 40.

According to reports, just before 6:00 p.m. on July 24, officers were called after a witness said they saw two vehicles driving quickly and erratically down I-40 westbound.

Once troopers arrived at the scene on I-40, they were able to find and stop both of the vehicles in Maumelle. They determined that the driver of one of the vehicles, 47-year-old Charles Pope of Mayflower, had purposely hit another vehicle that was driven by a 36-year-old woman from Little Rock.

Pope was arrested and taken to the Pulaski County Detention Center. He is being charged with felony aggravated assault and if convicted, he faces six years in prison and a $10,000 fine.
