Arkansas authorities investigating after 19-year-old killed in hit-and-run

Arkansas State Police is investigating an incident where a 19-year-old woman was killed during a hit-and-run incident on Wednesday night.

PINE BLUFF, Ark. — Arkansas State Police is now investigating an incident where a woman was killed during a hit-and-run incident on Wednesday night.

According to reports, witnesses said that a vehicle hit a 19-year-old woman identified as Kalei Owen of Bentonville after she ran from the woods and into the roadway on Interstate 530 in Jefferson County.

Police have now asked for the public's help in identifying the driver of the vehicle. They say it is believed to be a red Honda, though the exact model is unknown. It would most likely have damage to the front, passenger side and would be missing a fog light.

The vehicle was last seen at around 10:00 p.m. as it headed north on I-530 near exit 27.

Owen's body has been sent to the Arkansas State Crime Lab to determine the exact cause and manner of death.
