Suspect named in Park Plaza Mall shooting that injured 2

A suspect has now been named in connection to a shooting at the Park Plaza Mall that left two people injured on November 29.

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. — The Little Rock Police Department is searching for a suspect wanted in connection to a shooting that left two people injured on Black Friday while at the Park Plaza Mall.

Police are searching for Antonio L. Coleman Jr. and he faces two counts of criminal attempt to commit capital murder. 

According to reports, at 1:44 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 29, 2024, two people who knew each other exchanged gunshots.

Little Rock police responded and arrived at Park Plaza Mall where they found two people who had been shot during the incident. 

Authorities said that the victims were suffering from what appeared to be "non-life threatening injuries."

Police confirmed that the incident was not an active shooter situation but rather two people who knew each other.

Following the shooting, Little Rock Mayor Frank Scott Jr. released a statement where he thanked Little Rock police for their response to the shooting. 

"Gun violence in any form or at any time is unacceptable. Today’s shooting at Park Plaza Mall recklessly put lives at risk. My thanks to the first responders who helped protect our residents and guests," Mayor Scott said.

In addition to the mayor, Park Plaza Mall also released a statement following Friday's shooting: 

"Our hearts go out to the individuals affected in this incident, along with their loved ones. The safety and wellbeing of our guests and the community remains our top priority, and we are fully cooperating with law enforcement in their ongoing investigation."

There's currently no further information on the victims involved in the incident.
