LITTLE ROCK, Ark. — Just after midnight on Sunday, officers with the Arkansas State Police asked for help from the Little Rock Police Department to look into a homicide in Lonoke County.
According to reports, when LRPD officers were assisting ASP, they received notice of a shooting near the 12300 block of Chenal Parkway in West Little Rock.
Later on, detectives with LRPD were able to determine that those two incidents were the same and that a homicide had occurred in Little Rock.
Reports state that the victim is an adult black male but his identity has not yet been released.
A short time later, 25-year-old Joshua Shorty Jr. was taken into custody and charged with 1st-degree murder.
