ASP searching for driver in deadly Polk County hit-and-run involving cyclist

MENA, Ark. — Arkansas State Police are searching for a suspect involved in a fatal hit-and-run incident that happened on Thursday night.

According to reports, at about 9:30 p.m. on October 24, ASP troopers responded to the scene of an accident along State Highway 8 East near State Highway 375 and Lorelei Way. 

Once they arrived at the scene they discovered that a 19-year-old male cyclist had supposedly been traveling westbound in the center of the lane when he was struck by a vehicle.

The bicycle was then lodged under the vehicle and dragged about 60 to 90 feet before it was dislodged.

The victim, Levi Givens, died as a result of the accident.

No information has been released just yet regarding a suspect or possible vehicle.
