Conway man arrested after allegedly shooting victim in chest, police say

Conway police have arrested a 21-year-old man who is accused of shooting a victim in the chest outside of a local music venue.

CONWAY, Ark. — Conway police have arrested a 21-year-old man who is accused of shooting a victim in the chest outside of a local music venue. 

According to authorities, the incident happened on July 26 around 1:45 a.m. at King's Live Music in Conway. Police said they responded to calls of a person being shot in the chest. 

Once authorities arrived at the scene, they noticed a vehicle leaving the scene. They were later able to locate the vehicle which is where they found the suspect identified as 21-year-old Keyonte Banks. 

Police later took him into custody and charged him with 1st degree battery, unlawful discharge of a firearm from a vehicle, and possession of a firearm. 

The victim of the shooting was taken to a local hospital and their condition is unknown at this time, according to police.
