Police: Conway rape suspect arrested after high-speed chase reaching 120 mph

Conway police, with the aid of Arkansas State Police, arrested a rape suspect following a high-speed chase along I-40 that reached speeds of 120 mph.

CONWAY, Ark. — Conway police announced that they arrested a rape suspect following a high-speed chase on Wednesday. 

According to the Conway Police Department, the arrest happened on Wednesday around 8:47 p.m. and was completed with the assistance of Arkansas State Police. 

Officers said that the suspect, 38-year-old Dan Joyce, was driving a 2021 silver GMC Sierra at 120 mph along I-40. 

Authorities said that Joyce took exit 142 and continued west. From there, police said that they performed a tactical vehicle intervention (TVI), also known as a PIT maneuver, after Joyce failed to stop his vehicle. 

Following the chase, Joyce was arrested and taken into custody. He was booked and charged with felony rape and fleeing.
