Former Arkansas district court clerk pleads guilty to theft of property

MARION, Ark. — A former district court clerk has now pleaded guilty to theft of property which stemmed from an investigation by Arkansas State Police.

According to reports, 33-year-old Megan Goudy of West Memphis was a former clerk for the Marion District Court.

ASP agents initially arrested her on July 24, 2023, on eight counts of forgery and one count of theft of property after an investigation showed she had stolen more than $300,000 in court fines between 2019 and 2022.

She has now been sentenced to just under four months in the Crittenden County Detention Center, 20 years of probation, and must pay back $384,000 to the City of Marion.
