Four men arrested for shooting death of Arkansas teen

Authorities have arrested four men for fatally shooting a 17-year-old in a convenience store parking lot near Highway 13 in White County on July 6.

SEARCY, Ark. — Four men were arrested for the shooting death of 17-year-old Brendon Berryhill at a convenience store near Highway 13 in  Judsonia around 3:30 a.m. on July 6.

White County sheriffs patrolling the area of Salem Church Road saw a vehicle hit Berryhill, who was lying in the roadway with "gunshot wounds to the upper body."

Berryhill was taken to a hospital, where it was determined he had died from the gunshot wounds before the car hit him.

According to the White County Sheriff's Office, the homicide investigation led them to a convenience store off Highway 13, as surveillance video showed Berryhill get into a parking lot confrontation with four men in a car next to his.

Those four suspects were later identified as 18-year-old Jayden Solang of Cordova, Tenn., 20-year-old Johnathan Arrington of Memphis, Tenn., 18-year-old Kydavien Green of Millington, Tenn. and 18-year-old J’vion Todd of Memphis, Tenn.

After the confrontation, Berryhill tried to drive off but was shot with what "appeared to be a handgun through an open window."

The video then showed a second suspect fire a round from outside the vehicle, which also struck Berryhill.

All four individuals fled the scene and were later pursued by the Judsonia Police Department, Wynne Police Department, Marion Police Department, Crittenden County Sheriff's Office and the Arkansas State Police (ASP).

The White County Sheriff's Office said none of the authorities chasing the suspects knew about the shooting of Berryhill at the convenience store.

ASP ended the pursuit in Crittenden County by using a Tactical Vehicle Intervention. Since they didn't know about the homicide, only Solang, the driver, was taken into custody for "several traffic-related incidents."

The other three men were identified and released.

A few moments later, state troopers found a firearm in the vehicle that they believe was used to kill Berryhill.

Arrington, Green and Todd were arrested in Tennessee and taken to the Shelby County Detention Center, while Solang remains at the Crittenden County Detention Center.
