LAKE VILLAGE, Ark. — Arkansas State Police are currently assisting the Lake Village Police Department in investigating a homicide.
According to reports, at about 7:15 a.m. on Wednesday, officers with the Chicot County Sheriff's Office were notified of a man who was lying on the street inside the Lake Village Cemetery.
Once they arrived, they found 63-year-old James Haney on the ground.
The coroner pronounced Haney deceased while still at the scene and his body has been taken to the Arkansas State Crime Lab to determine the cause of death.
After an investigation is completed, ASP Special Agents will submit a criminal case file to the Chicot County prosecuting attorney.
