28-year-old arrested, charged for Jacksonville shooting that left one injured

The Jacksonville Police Department has now made an arrest in a shooting incident that left one person injured on Thursday.

JACKSONVILLE, Ark. — Update: The suspect identified as 28-year-old Malike Roy has now turned himself in. He is being charged with criminal attempt to commit capital murder, terroristic act, first-degree battery, and criminal mischief.

The Jacksonville Police Department is investigating a shooting incident that left one person injured on Thursday.

According to reports, officers were called to the scene of a shooting that happened on Cherry St. Once they arrived they found an 18-year-old male suffering from several gunshot wounds, and he was quickly taken to a nearby hospital.

Police have not released any information regarding the victim's condition.

The suspect left the scene on foot and then got into the red Chevrolet Avalanche truck pictured below.
