LITTLE ROCK, Ark. — A student at Joe T. Robinson was arrested after PCSSD security found a weapon in their backpack.
According to school officials, a parent contacted the school attendance clerk on Friday morning alerting them that their child wouldn't be at school that day.
PCSSD said in the email that the parent alluded that her child had been threatened by another student at the school.
From there, PCSSD security intercepted the student when they arrived at school, and with the help of the Little Rock Police Department, they searched the student's backpack and located the weapon.
PCSSD said that students and staff were not in any danger stemming from the incident and that quick action by administration, security, and LRPD helped prevent any potential incident.
