LITTLE ROCK, Ark. — A Little Rock man has now been sentenced to nearly two decades in federal prison for his involvement in the possession and intent to distribute fentanyl.

According to reports, an investigation by the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) showed that in June 2022, agents conducted surveillance on 33-year-old Edmond Quatrell Blue at an apartment complex in Little Rock.

While they were surveilling the scene, DEA agents saw a vehicle pull into the parking lot and Blue arriving moments later. He then exited his vehicle and got into the back seat of the other vehicle, then stepped out of the vehicle while holding a McDonald's bag, and proceeded to go inside an apartment.

Agents then saw Blue leaving the area and later returning in a truck. He went inside an apartment and walked back out to the truck while holding a duffle bag. The duffle bag was put in the truck and a short while later, state police pulled the truck over for a traffic violation.

Blue then exited the vehicle and took off running through a nearby apartment complex.

As officers ran after him, Blue reportedly threw the duffle bag into a dumpster.

As the pursuit for Blue continued, other officers searched the dumpster and found that the duffle bag contained a "large plastic bag of solid white powder substance" and also a kilogram of a solid white powder substance.

Officers then found Blue hiding out in a vacant apartment and he was then taken into custody.

Both substances were later tested and confirmed to be 1.5 kilograms of fentanyl.

Now, he is being sentenced to 18 years in prison for possession with intent to distribute fentanyl.
