LITTLE ROCK, Ark. — Little Rock police are now investigating a homicide that took place along Saint Charles Blvd on July 4 around 4:42 p.m.
According to the Little Rock Police Department, the incident was initially deemed to be an "accidental" shooting involving two minors. During their investigation, however, police have since upgraded the investigation to that of a homicide.
When authorities arrived on the scene, they found a child who had apparently been shot. First responders arrived and took the child to the hospital—the child was placed in critical care but later died due to injuries shortly after.
In an incident report from Little Rock police, authorities indicate the victim was a 3-year-old child.
Officers said that three people were taken to the Major Crimes Division to be interviewed.
