LITTLE ROCK, Ark — On Thursday, May 21 at 4:57 p.m., officers in the Southwest Patrol Division responded to a shooting just occurred at 10204 Milkyway Drive.
When officers arrived on scene, they did not locate a victim. Officers learned later that the victim was transported to UAMS by a private vehicle.
Jeremy Parks, 22, was later pronounced deceased at the hospital as a result of his injuries.
Witnesses at the scene and at the hospital were transported to the Major Crimes Division to meet with detectives. Responding officers located several items believed to be evidence at the scene and marked off the area surrounding it until Homicide Detectives and the Crimes Scene Search Unit arrived.
When detectives responded to the scene, they began their investigation by performing a neighborhood canvass.
Detectives were able to obtain surveillance from the area that is being reviewed. Witnesses described the suspect as a black male, light skin tone, high top haircut, wearing faded blue jeans and no shirt. Witnesses informed detectives the suspect came to the residence asking for Parks and shortly after a disturbance occurred.
The disturbance escalated and the suspect shot at Parks multiple times. The suspect fled the area in a blue sedan, leaving westbound on Moonbeam Trail. The vehicle that transported Parks to UAMS was towed to the Crime Scene Bay to be further evaluated by detectives and the Crime Scene Search Unit.
Parks body was transported to the Arkansas State Crime lab for an autopsy to be performed.
This investigation is ongoing and the next of kin has been notified.
