Little Rock man claims self-defense in shooting death of 31-year-old

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. — On March 27, 2020, at approximately 8:28 a.m., a Little Rock officer was patrolling the area of S. Gaines Street and 26th Street when Rikki Ratcliff stopped the patrol car and told the officer she was "just shot at."

Ratcliff pointed out a house located at 2924 S. Gaines Street where the shooting happened. While the officer and Ratcliff were outside of the house in the patrol car, a man came out of the house requesting medical assistance after being shot.

By the time MEMS arrived, 31-year-old Jeremy Bonds had succumbed to his injuries.

Ratcliff, as well as the occupants of this residence, were interviewed by detectives in connection to the shooting.

An individual has come forward claiming self-defense in the shooting.

The case has been submitted to the Pulaski County prosecuting attorney’s Office for review.
