LITTLE ROCK, Ark — According to the Little Rock Police Department, officers responded to Woodford Drive at 9:56 p.m. on April 3 in reference to a possible DWI.
The release said the caller reported a white vehicle was in his driveway and partially in his yard with the door open and headlights on. Shortly after the initial call, they called again and reported a man lying on the ground near the vehicle.
Upon arrival to the scene, officers located a man lying on the ground near the vehicle with apparent gunshot wounds and showed no signs of life. Medical personnel responded and pronounced the man dead.
The man was later identified as 36-year-old Howard Tate of Little Rock.
Homicide Detectives and Crime Scene Search Unit responded to the scene to begin their investigation.
Tate's body was transported to the Arkansas State Crime Laboratory for an autopsy.
