Little Rock police have arrested 40-year-old Kendall Jones for murder after responding to a call about a suspect striking his father with a brick.
Police received the call at around 8:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 19. When officers arrived on scene, they made contact with Kendall Jones, who was outside the residence.
Officers then found a victim who was suffering from head injuries and bleeding severely. The victim was transported to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead. The deceased has been identified as 77-year-old Joseph Jones Jr.
Joseph Jones' body has been transported to the Arkansas State Crime Lab for an autopsy.
After investigating, police named Kendall Jones, Joseph's son, as a suspect.
Police are still investigating the caller's relationship to either or both of the men.
Police say Kendall Jones has been charged with first-degree murder. He was transported to the Pulaski County Jail. His vehicle was taken in to be processed.
