LRPD detective arrested, charged with domestic assault

According to the Little Rock Police Department, a detective with LRPD was recently arrested.

LITTLE ROCK, Ark — According to the Little Rock Police Department, a detective with the LRPD was recently arrested.

In a statement released by LRPD, it says Detective John Brawley of LRPD was arrested and charged with domestic assault on Thursday morning, Jan. 9. This is being investigated by an agency in another jurisdiction.

According to the incident report, Brawley and his wife, got into a verbal argument, which led to Brawley to push her out of the bedroom.

Brawley's wife did not have any visible injuries.

Statements were taken from Brawley, his wife and daughter, who was also present at the time of the incident, and later was arrested. Detective Brawley was trasnported to the Saline County Jail,

He has been placed on administrative leave as a result of this incident and an internal investigation will be conducted by LRPD's departments Professional Standards Section.

Brawley was hired by LRPD on February 14, 2004.
