Juvenile killed in overnight shooting in Little Rock, police confirm

An investigation is underway after a juvenile male died after an overnight shooting in south Little Rock near I-30 Frontage Road.

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. — One man is dead after a Thursday night shooting near 7700 North Chicot Road in Little Rock.

The Little Rock Police Department reported the shooting the morning after, saying officers were called to the scene around 11:23 p.m. on Dec. 15.

Once on scene, a juvenile Black male suffering from gunshot wounds was found and transported to a nearby hospital. He later died due to his injuries.

His body was transported to the State Crime Lab for an autopsy and next of kin was notified. 

Police have not released the victim's identity nor have they named any suspects or motive for the shooting.

Detectives launched a preliminary investigation by canvassing the area for witnesses and video surveillance. This investigation is currently ongoing and occurred in the Southwest Division.
