LEE COUNTY, ARKANSAS, Ark. — One man has now pleaded guilty to the first-degree murder and first-degree battery for his involvement in the 2022 death of a 5-year-old Lee County boy.

According to reports, 34-year-old Nathan Bridges was sentenced to 60 years in the Arkansas Department of Corrections.

Reports show that on December 16, 2022, the body of the child was found underneath the floorboards inside his family’s home. The Lee County Sheriff’s Office then requested help from the Arkansas State Police’s Criminal Investigation Division.

Agents at the home also investigated injuries to a 6-year-old girl who lived in the home and both Bridges and 30-year-old Ashley Rolland, the children’s mother, were taken to the Lee County Detention Center.

Rolland is still awaiting her trial in Lee County but faces several felony charges including capital murder, permitting child abuse, abuse of a corpse, tampering with physical evidence, endangering the welfare of a minor, and battery.
