One person dead, two injured in overnight shooting at Pine Bluff park

Police are investigating after an overnight shooting at a park in Pine Bluff left one person dead and two others injured.

PINE BLUFF, Ark. — The Pine Bluff Police Department is investigating after an overnight shooting at a park left one person dead and two others injured.

According to reports, at about 1:00 a.m. on Sunday morning, officers were called with reports of a shooting at Regional Park.

Once they arrived at the scene, a group of people pointed them to where a 25-year-old man with serious injuries was lying in the road. He was later pronounced deceased while at the scene by the Jefferson County Coroner's Office.

The victim's identity has not yet been released but the body has been sent to the Arkansas State Crime Lab for an autopsy.

Witnesses at the scene say that there was a large gathering at the park when gunshots were fired. Two other people were injured in the shooting but are suffering from non-life-threatening injuries.

Police say that the investigation into this incident is still in its early stages and so far they have no suspect information that is available.
