Police arrest suspect in fatal southwest Little Rock stabbing, learn his real identity

Little Rock police have identified and arrested 36-year-old Carlos Umberto Ramos, the suspect in the fatal stabbing.

UPDATE -- 33-year-old Evedencio Ordonez was killed on Stanton Road after being stabbed on June 9. The suspect, Humberto Machic, known as Carlos Ramos, is in the county jail facing a charge of murder in the first degree.

ORIGINAL: LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (KTHV) - Little Rock police have identified and arrested 36-year-old Carlos Umberto Ramos for a fatal southwest Little Rock stabbing.

The incident occurred Saturday, June 9. Homicide detectives obtained warrants for his arrest for Murder 1st Degree and Battery 1st Degree. He was arrested around 9:20 p.m. on Sunday, June 10 at Asher Avenue and Cedar Street.

Once in custody, Ramos told detectives that his legal name is Humberto Aroldo Machic Ramos and he uses Carlos Umberto Ramos as an alias. The warrants were served and he was booked in the jail under his legal name.

According to Little Rock police, they believe that the injured victim was acquainted with the suspect and was stabbed over a disagreement between the two of them several days prior.

The deceased victim, a 33-year-old male, is not being identified until his next of kin has been notified.
