Suspect in custody for North Little Rock homicide

The North Little Rock Police Department has arrested a 19-year-old suspect in connection with a homicide that happened on Monday afternoon.

NORTH LITTLE ROCK, Ark. — The North Little Rock Police Department is investigating a homicide that happened on the afternoon of February 5.

According to reports, at about 4:15 p.m., officers were called to the 300 block of East C Avenue with reports of a "suspicious circumstance with a possible gunshot being fired."

When they arrived at the scene they found a male subject, later identified as 19-year-old Thomas Phillips, suffering from at least one gunshot wound. The victim was pronounced dead while at the scene.

After an investigation, detectives identified 19-year-old Robert Duncan Jr. as a suspect in the incident. He was transported to the North Little Rock Justice Center and interviewed. 

Duncan Jr. admitted his involvement in the death of Mr. Phillips to detectives and has been charged with capital murder.

He is currently being held at the Pulaski County Regional Detention Facility without bond.
