Police: Suspect arrested after shots fired at Walmart in Bryant

The Bryant Police Department has now made an arrest after shots were fired at a Walmart on Sunday.

BRYANT, Ark. — The Bryant Police Department is currently investigating after shots were fired at a Walmart on Sunday night.

According to reports, just before 8:00 p.m., Bryant officers were called to the scene after shots were allegedly fired at Walmart employees who were standing outside.

33-year-old Cornelius Shackelford was identified as the suspect who shot at employees after he reportedly became upset due to workers refusing to fill an online order from him.

As he drove away, he fired shots at the employees. However, he was later taken into custody a few miles away.

Police say that no injuries were reported during the shooting incident.

Shackleford also received additional charges due to an investigation revealing that he had previously pointed a firearm at an employee and customers at a car wash on September 28.

He is currently being held at the Saline County Detention Center on a $50,000 bond and is being charged with five counts of aggravated assault and other charges for the incident at the car wash. 

He is also being charged with four counts of aggravated assault, terroristic act, and unlawful discharge of a firearm for the incident at Walmart.
